Yes, I checked on her again that evening and she was still hanging out in the exact same spot. So, I called a local (more or less) wildlife rehabilitator and we discussed the situation. Together, we decided to give mom overnight to reclaim her baby. Waiting was awful, but I knew her best chance was with her mom.

The next morning I went out and checked again. She was gone and there were no signs of any trouble, such as a predator or something. At that point, all I could do was hope that mom had indeed returned for her.

Then, about a week later we were driving past the same spot and saw a doe and fawn. The baby was exactly the right age and I'm almost certain is was our little foundling. So, I am happy to say that, yes, she and mom were reunited ... the happiest possible ending to our little saga! :-)

So happy to see you here! :D

Sorry this reply took so long ... I've been out taking pictures and planting flowers after a very long winter. We have such a short warm season up here, I hate to waste it indoors at the computer. We also had company for a couple weeks which kept me quite busy.

As for your question, yes, I do hope to sell them at some point. Right now, it's pretty much by request only, so if you see something you like just let me know. Eventually I would like to have some prints made up for display at local shops and street markets. I'm also putting together a couple of galleries that will allow you to order prints, but they are still works in progress and probably won't be fully functional before fall, when the rain returns.

Did you ever get a chance to go back? I hope that it was the momma you heard and that she and her baby are together again. What a precious little animal. It is a good thing you were there to move it to a safer location.
Such an adorable shot, and remarkable story.
